This role will be remote. At Altiora Consulting, we trust our resources have a strong work ethic to be successful in their role regardless of location.

Altiora Consulting is looking for a Scrum Master. This role will be responsible for facilitating and coaching multiple Agile development teams to achieve higher levels of maturity and effectiveness. The role will collaborate closely with product owners, development teams, and stakeholders to ensure that Agile principles and practices are adhered to, fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

The candidate will have an excellent balance of organizational, management and technical skills, with little oversight. Interaction and leadership across functional lines is essential. The candidate will have demonstrated the ability to be proactive and self-manage.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Scrum Processes: Guide the team through daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure Scrum ceremonies are conducted efficiently.
  • Remove Impediments: Proactively identify and remove obstacles that hinder the team’s progress. Work closely with stakeholders to resolve any issues that may affect the team’s ability to deliver high-quality products.
  • Coach and Mentor: Provide coaching and mentoring to team members on Agile principles, practices, and methodologies. Foster a culture of collaboration, self-organization, and accountability within the team.
  • Support Product Owner: Assist the Product Owner in maintaining a clear and prioritized product backlog. Facilitate communication between the Product Owner and development team to ensure a shared understanding of project goals and requirements.
  • Promote Continuous Improvement: Encourage the team to continuously improve their processes, practices, and performance. Facilitate retrospectives and help the team implement actionable improvements.
  • Foster Team Collaboration: Create a positive and inclusive team environment. Promote open communication, collaboration, and trust among team members.
  • Monitor and Report Progress: Track and monitor team performance using Agile metrics and tools. Provide regular updates to stakeholders on team progress, risks, and achievements.
  • Agile Advocacy: Advocate for Agile methodologies and best practices within the organization. Educate and influence stakeholders on the benefits of Agile and Scrum.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, Business).
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar Agile certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an Agile software development environment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles, practices, and frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience with Agile tools and software (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
  • Experience working with distributed or remote teams.
  • Advanced Agile certifications (e.g., Certified Scrum Professional, SAFe Agilist).
